Decorative altar with colorful elements and 'Muertos Fest' sign in an outdoor setting

OCTOBER 2025

The Dead, The Living, and the space Between.

I was a sad skeleton as Austin's Viva La Vida parade got cancelled, and rescheduled. I soothed my sorrow with a day trip to Muertos Fest in San Antonio. The same electric hot pink keeps calling to me, it's everywhere. The smell of marigolds was vegetal and wild. I must try to grow them next year!

October 2025
Full Moon, and Scream Club

Look closely, and you'll see the faintest nearly-full moon hovering just above a building, mid-skyline. A ride-or-die friend joined me for Scream Club ATX on the pedestrian bridge. A UT student working on a project asked what I was planning to scream about, and honestly I couldn't answer because there is SO MUCH TO SCREAM ABOUT IN 2025!

Seriously. Join us on the bridge, Sundays at 7pm.

September 2025

Getting into cold, clean water is the best thing we can do for ourselves. Forty-five minutes north of San Antonio, Texas, The San Marcos River is flourishing after a lot of work to remove invasive plants and animals. The endangered wild rice, which was only planted in a few haphazard locations a few years ago, is now absolutely taking over. Highly recommended, if you find yourself in the area.
